HTC Titan hits UK
HTC has just launched a new smartphone in the UK called the Titan. As its name suggests this is a large handset and thanks to its 4.7 inch display it gives you more of a window on to your mobile world than almost any other model on the market. However, it is not a mobile which feels particularly cumbersome to hold thanks to its slim build which seems to defy the cutting edge hardware which lurks within.
Around the back you will find an eight megapixel camera which has a wide angle lens to let you add that professional, cinematic touch to your photographs. The camera can be used to capture high definition video clips and as you might imagine it is easy to show off your movies and photos on the large display. 16GB of onboard storage space is made available to you for apps, media and downloads so you should find it hard to run out of room on the HTC Titan.
What makes the HTC Titan an important recent release is the fact that it is one of the first mobiles to come with Windows Phone 7.5 Mango straight out of the box. This is the latest edition of Microsoft`s critically acclaimed mobile operating system which was rebooted back in 2010 to get rid of the clunky interface and business-oriented feel of its predecessors. Version 7.5 comes with a host of useful features and ameliorations. For example, social networking site Twitter is now embedded in the fabric of the platform, making it easier than ever to update your followers on what is going on, share content and links and find out when someone has messaged you or mentioned you.
Multitasking is another of the major improvements with Windows Phone 7.5 on the HTC Titan. Holding down for a long press on the back button will bring up thumbnails of the most recent apps you have been using and let you jump into them immediately rather than waiting around while they resume. Thanks to the powerful 1.5GHz processor within the Titan it can handle multitasking smoothly and this new chip makes it the most powerful Windows Phone model on the market at the moment.
Media playback is at the heart of the HTC Titan`s functionality and along with its expansive display you can enjoy 5.1 virtual surround sound from the integrated speakers. This means that whether listening to music or watching video, the Titan will knock all other rival phones out of the park in terms of quality and volume.
If you fancy picking up the HTC Titan following its launch in the UK and Ireland then you might want to save a bit of cash in the process. Keep an eye on Groupon Ireland to see if any affordable offers pop up for this smartphone and other cutting edge pieces of technology.
